Sylvia Duckworth is an innovator when it comes to learning. She is a French teacher, a sketch-note taker, a Google-certified Innovator, a tech coach and so much more. She's received an extensive amount and variety of awards, honors and recognition.
Her non-traditional strategies to teach drew my attention. She saw that many students (and adults!) learn visually. So, she started adding doodles and simple drawings to her notes to help herself and others learn more effectively. This creates images in the brain associated with concepts, making people more likely to retain information. She regularly speaks and writes about her ideas and encouragement for other educators to adopt similar strategies. I know I learned several interesting things just by scrolling through some of her sketches! Her Links: |
