Getting Started with iPads
Learning the iPad through Apple Teach:
If I'm being honest, I took the quiz before I went through the tutorial book to see how much I knew, thinking I would be able to re-take the quiz after I earned the badge. Although I could guess the right answer to much of the quiz, going through the manual revealed so many functions of the iPad I didn't know existed! I'll list my favorites below:
I'm so excited to learn more about what my iPad has to offer and how that will benefit me as a future teacher!

Although I could guess the right answer to much of the quiz, going through the manual revealed so many functions of the iPad I didn't know existed! I'll list my favorites below:
- Slide Over and Split View: allows you to open a second app without leaving the first. Slide left from the right side of the screen to activate; continue sliding for Split View
- Flyover Tour: take a 3D tour of many cities worldwide. Find the location on maps and select Flyover Tour. We did this in class, but it's so amazing I had to include it.
- Ask Siri to Set Reminders: quicker and simpler way to remember things. I've used reminders in the past, but I love this function.
- Sketching in Notes: tap the squiggly line in notes to draw. I didn't know Notes had this function!
- Speak Selection: have Siri speak a section. Go to Settings>General>Accessibility>Speech>Speak Selection. I actually use this function all the time because I learn better by hearing than reading. I wanted to include it because it's super handy and not that known.
- iTunes U: download this free Apple app to access over 12,000 free courses and learn almost anything!
- For Educators: section of iTunes with resources for educators.
